Pink Toed Tarantula
Pink Toed Tarantula
Temperature: Pink toe tarantulas can tolerate a wide range of temperatures, but they prefer a constant temperature of 70–75°F. You can use a heatmat and thermostat to regulate the temperature in their enclosure.
Humidity: Pink toe tarantulas prefer high humidity levels of 65–75%. You can add a sponge soaked in water to the bottom of their enclosure, mist it with water every few days, or use a combo meter to monitor the humidity.
Enclosure: Pink toe tarantulas are arboreal, so their enclosure should be taller than it is wide. You can use a deep layer of substrate and live plants to give them places to hide.
Diet: Pink toe tarantulas are carnivorous and eat live insects, such as brown crickets. Feed them once or twice a week, depending on how hungry they are.
Cleaning: Remove any uneaten prey after 24 hours. You should also monitor for mold growth and remove any moldy parts of the bedding. Change the bedding every four to six months.
Molting: Before molting, tarantulas will fast for a few days or weeks. Make sure the enclosure isn't too dry during this time, or the tarantula could get stuck in its skin and die.
Lifespan: Female pink toe tarantulas can live up to 10 years or more, while males typically live 3–4 years.
