Strawbery Poison Arrow Dart Frog
Temperature: Strawberry poison dart frogs prefer a temperature range of 75–82°F (24–28°C) during the day and a drop of 5–9°F (3–5°C) at night. Temperatures above 85°F are dangerous.
Humidity: Strawberry poison dart frogs prefer a humidity range of 80–100% but can tolerate humidity down to 50% for short periods of time if they have access to water.
Lighting: A 12-hour day/night cycle will benefit your frogs and stimulates live plant growth.
Enclosure: The layout of your cage should be tailored to the specific type of poison dart frog. Strawberry poison dart frogs are display animals and don't like to be handled.
Food: Strawberry poison dart frogs feed on tiny, live insects and other arthropods, such as small fruit flies, aphids, and springtails.
Supplements: Variety is key with supplements. Repashy Calcium Plus is a staple supplement, and Repashy Vitamin A Plus and SuperPig can be used once monthly for maintenance.
Breeding: Breeding strawberry poison dart frogs can be more challenging than other dart frog species. The mother lays a small number of eggs on leaves or on the axillary buds of bromeliad plants. She carries the tadpoles one by one on her back to a separate puddle high in the trees.
